Modest Mouse's fourth album arrived in 2004 as a genuine crossover moment for indie rock — the kind that actually sticks. "Float On" became an unlikely radio hit without compromising the band's sardonic wit, and the album went on to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album and move over 1.5 million copies in the US alone. Two decades later, it still sounds like nothing else: Isaac Brock's fractured guitar work and world-weary storytelling balanced against hooks that burrow deep and stay there.

This 2024 reissue gives the album a proper physical upgrade, pressed on opaque baby pink and opaque spring green vinyl across a 2-LP set. The colored wax makes it a standout on the shelf and a meaningful upgrade for anyone still spinning an original or a standard black pressing. With the album freshly certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA in 2024 and a Discogs community rating of 4.7/5, demand for quality copies remains strong.
