Pearl Jam's debut landed in 1991 like a gut punch — ten tracks that defined a generation and made Eddie Vedder's voice synonymous with raw, searching rock. Where most grunge leaned into noise and nihilism, Ten pulled from classic rock's deep well: "Alive," "Even Flow," and "Jeremy" hit like Zeppelin riffs filtered through Seattle rain. Thirteen-times Platinum in the US and inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2021, this is one of the most important American rock albums ever made.
This 2009 pressing is a serious audiophile package. Cut at 180 grams and newly remastered from the original tapes at Gateway Mastering in Portland, LP1 delivers Ten the way it was meant to be heard. LP2 — Ten Redux — adds a full set of brand-new remixes by Brendan O'Brien, giving the album an entirely different dimension. Both discs also carry a hidden track: "Master/Slave" appears on sides B and D after 20 seconds of silence at the 5:20 mark, running just under 3:30. Pressed on black vinyl.
